30-inch Freestanding Electric Range (JBS160DMWW)

This stove was unable to boil any pasta or eggs. The burners never got hot when setting was placed on high (8- 10)Cooking took longer to be ready. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS STOVE MODEL. Returned stove and got an upgraded version ( J B256D M2WW ) and now I'm satisfied with the upgraded version. All burners work and am able to boil water.

I like that you turn stove on and brings contents to boil very quick. Love how simple and easy to use this stove is.

The sensetemp or whatever they call it sucks. It shuts off while I'm cooking all the time without my knowledge.. ruins some recipes easily. We asked the landlords to send it back at first thinking we got a dud but apparently that's designed like that on purpose.

Supposed to have both elements on with oven on. No go. They replaced stove, still no go. Piece of junk.

I grew up with GE appliances around me, now I am the adult and pretty much the majority of my appliances in my home is General Electric. They have wonderful appliances.

This range is affordable and does a solid job of cooking, but be aware that it the cooktops use "sensi-temp technology". This means that when the stovetop decides that your pan is too hot, it shuts off. What this has meant is that when I'm boiling water in my tea-kettle, it often shuts off before my kettle has begun to fully whistle. I'm pretty sure the water is boiling and "hot enough", but it is frustrating to have the stove decide when to lower my temperatures. I think this would be mitigated by a tea kettle with a flat bottom (mine is curved). I have had to get creative at times when wanting to boil water or simmer soup for prolonged periods of time. Again, I think the stove can meet my needs, it's just that I'm used to using the stove in a different way and I've had to adapt to the fact that if I keep the range too hot, then I lose consistent heat. I will continue to navigate this feature and I'm sure all will be well in the end, but I would prefer to have a stove that can adjust to the way I cook, rather than the other way around!
